The Yoli Coffee Story

We bring Ethiopian specialty roast coffee beans to the U.S.

Ethiopian specialty coffee starts here.

Nearly a decade ago, Asnakech Mulugeta looked out across a vast coffee field in Ethiopia and realized she wanted to turn her passion for coffee into a business that would support her family. Asna had been passionate about coffee for as long as she could remember, and she entered the coffee trade years earlier as a Starbucks barista while living in the U.S.

She already understood the retail side of the coffee business quite well from her time working at the global coffeeshop. But she wanted to do more. She wanted to work with farmers in her home country and expand global knowledge of the rich specialty coffees grown there.

Asna quickly learned everything she could about the wholesale coffee market and coffee exporting in her home country—the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia.

The birthplace of coffee—and a dream.

In 2013, Asna launched a coffee exporting business servicing markets in Asia and Europe. The company became a family affair, and she built strong relationships with buyers across the East, and the company grew faster than expected.

Her family also grew, and she became mom to two young children. With the Ethiopian office growing, Asna decided it was time to return to the U.S. and expand the business to the Americas.

She set up shop in Houston in 2019 and began working with Dupuy Storage warehouse to ensure her U.S. customers have quick, easy access to the freshest Ethiopian specialty beans.
